NWF is established under the Water Supply and Sanitation Act No. 5 of 2019 as an entity responsible for mobilization of financial resources necessary to implement water projects. The Fund is established to address the funding challenges for implementation of water projects. The Fund operates on a result-based approach by targeting water projects with great impact to the community and the sector at large. The projects to be funded must come from areas with inadequate service coverage.
